Several Environmental initiatives including the use of soy ink has won a Byron Bay printing business a prestigious award.


North Coast Print Solutions has been awarded the 2005 Printing Industries NSW award for environmental intitiatives for small businesses under 20 employees.


The award was presented to owners Karen and Tony Hill at a gala dinner held recently in Sydney


North Coast Print Solutions uses a number of environmental initiatives including vegetable based inks for all process colours and all press chemicals are environmentally friendly.


"This is all more expensive than regular inks and chemicals but we feel that for the sake of the environment and the health of our staff it is a good investment," Karen said. "We also encourage our customers to use recycled stock and as a business we recycle all of our waste paper.

 

We also make note pads from our paper offcuts as free gifts to our customers
