Our Fuji Xerox digital print machine can take care of most short run colour and mono printing. Our range of stocks for the xerox is amazing. Almost all stocks that can be printed on the offset press can be printed on the xerox. From short run ncr (carbonless sets) to 400gsm recycled satin art, including label, metalics, coated, recycled, and uncoated stocks. We have a full finishing service including scoring, drilling, guillotine, collating, padding, stapling (booklet making) and wiro binding plus die cutting and creasing. The quality of the finished item will astound you with most people not able to tell the difference between the xerox and offset print. We can also produce short run CD insert front booklets and the back trays complete with the perforations for tray insert folding. Colour labels on regular gloss or matt or on FR8 (refrigerator) or ET9 (high tack) can be either guillotined or diecut in quantities as small as 10 or up to thousands. Manuals, swing tags, posters, stationery, business cards - the list is endless - if it can be produced on an offset press, it can be produced on the xerox in smaller numbers, quickly and economically.
In most cases digital jobs can be turned around in a matter of a few days and often business cards can be produced from your final file in a day if needed. You need never go to that business trip without cards again. We have a fantastic range of standard stock and in many cases recycled stock will not cost you any more.
Digital printing with the xerox and the environmental issues.
We do not have any problems using recycled paper through our xerox. The recycled stocks available today are all excellent and print beautifully through the xerox. We use gloss, matt or satin coated recycled stocks plus uncoated basic and the speciality recycled stocks and have a good range in stock. Over 50% of the stock that is printed through our xerox is recycled and in fact our standard coated stocks are 55% recycled so even if you dont ask for it - you will get it anyway - Australian made and 55% recycled. We are now stocking 100% recycled coated gloss or matt recycled as well for the digital colour brochures and cards. We have a range of uncoated from 80% to 100% recycled in both Australian made and imported. I do like to use our Australian made products though whenever possible.
People often say they dont want to use the xerox because they cant use the soy inks which they can use on the offset press. My answer to that for short run printing is that the xerox has its own enviro features and that the soy ink issue is offset against the fact that with digital print there is almost zero waste. With offset printing the press operator needs a certain number of press sheets to get position and colour density on his sheet. On a full colour job this can be around 300 sheets for a 500 sheet run. This is a big percentage and although we do reuse our press runup sheets over and over there are still a certain amount that must be clean paper. With the xerox the first print is right to go. If printing a two sided job then we may need 4 sheets to get position on a run of several hundred. Sometimes this can be done with only 1 sheet. This means very little waste. Because the toner is very clean there are no chemicles to use. No wash up chemicles, cleaners, plates, film - it is all very clean with very little waste. I have no problem recommending this method of print as being extremely environmentally conscious.
Xerox has a "0" landfill policy with all toner cartridges being collected and recycled. We put all cartridges aside in the original boxes and these are collected for refilling. One reason we chose this machine was because it had the largest toner containers that we could find which meant less toner units being used and less waste. Please see the Fuji Xerox environmental page to find out more about their environmental policy. Of course all printing done on the xerox can be recycled again after use through the same process as that done for offset printing. See our environmental printing page for an explanation on recycled paper.
